DESCRIPTION: Similar to the smut found on the anthers of Red Campion this species is not as common but is again just a rusty brown covering on the specified areas. SPORES: Round, finely reticulate, light purple. HABITAT: On anthers of White Campions. The similar species on Red Campion is known as Microbotryum silenes-dioicae. SEASON: Uncommon. April to Sept.  |
